What are the limitations of the EDI platform? How does a web-based platform for inter-enterprise communication rectify these limitations?

EDI stands for Electronic Data Interchange and is the transfer of data between different companies using networks, such as private networks or the internet.

In the past EDI had its limitations because it was costly to implement and difficult to achieve due to businesses proprietary architectures.

The internet has made it easier and cheaper to transfer data between different companies because of its open architecture.
